Samsung PABX OS 7030

The OfficeServ 7030 small business phone system offers users a feature rich solution that can scale up to 20 users – more than enough for 90% of small companies. It’s important to note that the 20 is a maximum configuration and it really depends on what combination of Samsung handsets you want. Maximum handset configuration per type for the OfficeServ 7030 IP Pbx are as follows:

  • Samsung IP handsets – 16 users
  • Samsung Digital handsets – 10 users
  • Analogue phones – 8

OS7030download_brochure

Like most phone systems these days the Samsung OfficeServ 7030 is a hybrid solution. This means you can operate different types of handset technologies as well as different types of phone lines too. This way customers get the best of all worlds as they can stay with what they have or migrate to IP now or in the future.

A solution that can adapt as you grow

Although the 7030 is limited to 20 users, the entire 7000 OfficeServ series offers modular architecture as well as common software and handsets across the entire range. As a customer it means you can start with the smaller 7030 however if your company grows, or you open other locations or have remote staff, you can expand to/network with larger systems in the OfficeServ 7000 series. Unlike previous Samsung solutions it means that you’re never stuck with a solution that doesn’t accommodate your potential future requirements.

The Samsung Office Serv 7030 IP Pbx does VoIP

For this small business pbx Samsung also included the ability to have up to 8 SIP trunks. SIP are premium quality VoIP phone lines for business and 8 SIP trunks are the same as 8 traditional phone lines. This is not to be confused with 16 IP users (that’s 16 IP handsets not phone lines). The fact that SIP is now available in smaller phone systems, like the base model 7030 OfficeServ, is a reflection of the mass market transition to VoIP.

Can you keep your existing phone lines and not go VoIP?

Yes you can. As a hybrid the OfficeServ 7030 pbx allows you to connect either traditional PSTN or ISDN 2 phone lines (up to 8 lines max for either). So although SIP trunking is available, you don’t need to go full IP if you choose not to. You still get an easy to use solution will lots of features and the technology is there if/when you’re ready.

Range of different Samsung handsets to choose from.

The Samsung OfficeServ 7030 supports a range of easy to use and well designed wireless, digital and IP handsets. The wireless IP handsets are a great addition at this low end of the market and allow small business staff to have mobility whilst still accessing the phone systems functions.

The Samsung digital handsets are cheaper than the IP versions but there can be benefit in spending the extra money if you have remote locations, a lack of existing phone cabling or simply like the plug and play afforded by IP technology.  Here is a list of the handsets available for the OfficeServ 7030:

  • Samsung 5007S Phone Handset
  • Samsung 5014 Phone Handset
  • Samsung 5038 Phone Handset
  • Samsung i3100 IP Phone Handset
  • Samsung i3105 IP Phone Handset
  • Samsung i5220 IP Phone Handset
  • Samsung i5230 IP Phone Handset
  • Samsung i5243 IP Phone Handset

Key Features of the Samsung OfficeServ 7030 phone system:

  • Up to 20 users (Handset Capacity – IP 16, Digital 10, analogue 8)
  • Connect up to 8 PSTN, ISDN or SIP trunks to 7030 (No Primary rate)
  • Choose from a range of Samsung IP, Digital and Wireless IP handsets
  • Feature rich
  • 2 port sophisticated voicemail and auto attendant
  • CTI as well as applications like OfficeServ Call, Easyset and Manager software
  • IP networking for remote users or systems
  • Small business pricing

Is the Samsung OfficeServ 7030 phone system NBN ready?

Like all IP Pbx systems it is. If you’re not moving to VoIP for your phone calls then the NBN is irrelevant anyway. Even if you are deploying IP handsets in the office this is contingent upon your internal network infrastructure not external factors like the NBN.

If you’re considering VoIP the only benefit of the NBN is if your current ADSL connection is not fast enough, or stable enough, to deliver quality VoIP phone calls. If you have ADSL2+ currently then you’ve probably got what you need already. For HD quality Video conferencing the NBN may help but the OfficeServ 7030 doesn’t support it anyway. The NBN will only affect customers that haven’t been able to get decent internet to this point – typically regional areas or outer metro. As a rule we always check your SIP (VoIP) compatibility before we do anything anyway for your peace of mind.

Wi-fi Access and the OfficeServ 7030

With Wi-Fi access points in your office you can now use Wi-Fi handsets and PDA’s to connect seamlessly to the Samsung 7030 phone system. This can increase the range of mobility well beyond traditional cordless phones. Connect your mobiles phones and PC’s to the phone system.

Like many IP PBX systems the Samsung OfficeServ 7030 pbx system offers the ability to twin your mobile phone to the system. This is where your desk phone and mobile are programmed to ring at the same time. So no matter whether you are in or out of the office you’re always contactable from your one office extension.

Twinning is the basic way and is now somewhat par for the course. Some other manufacturers have taken this a step further and allow you to download SIP applications to your iPhone, Tablet or Android device. From there you have access to the phone system and features of the system anywhere you get Wi-Fi or 3G services. The technology is so good that some manufacturers like Avaya even offer Video conferencing and GEO location services as well through their applications. The Samsung OfficeServ 7030 also allows mobile users to load softphone applications on their PC’s. This way you get a virtual phone handset on screen that allows you to use you phone through your PC or laptop. This is great for people that travel around but if you’re looking at remote worker in a fixed location then a straightforward IP handset is usually the best way to go.

Advanced Voicemail and email integration

Voicemail is included in most solutions however the voicemail for this small business solution is very sophisticated. The Samsung 7030 pbx voicemail goes one step further, allowing users to intelligently route callers with different greetings and employing call routing based on time of day, day of week, caller ID and DDI (Direct In dial). This way you can have different messages automatically configured for any eventuality.

Many customers will never use this function but for power phone users its definitely worth the time to set up once. Imagine having your phone on DND (Do Not Disturb) with calls going to voicemail but still having the ability to let certain internal/ external numbers ring through. Or if you take lunch at the same time it will automatically go to voicemail at the right time every day. You can even have your voicemails play on the speakerphone before you decide to intrude and pick up the call.

The email integration feature gives staff the ability to access and manage voicemail messages as emails directly into their inbox. This way you staff can easily listen to, respond, transfer and forward voice and email messages quickly an efficiently. No more waiting to get back to the office and no more excuses.

Uniform Call distribution, call recording and call centre applications

Years ago features like this on a small system would have been unthinkable. With advanced call routing you can not only intelligently distribute calls between users but you can also see how many people are in the queue etc by simply looking at your phone’s screen.

If you’re running a mini call centre the OfficeServ 7030 CRM application can make call routing decisions based on the CLI or DDI number dialled. It can even perform skill based routing to an individual or group that may be best served to take particular type of call. The Samsung CMS application can then measure and report on all this information for both live response times as well as historical information. This is something we didn’t expect to find on the entry level Samsung 7030 phone system. It really is a very smart little pbx solution.

Even the ability to call record is something companies used to pay $1000’s for. Yes solutions like Hosted IP Pbx’s offer it for next to nothing but it just shows how far the technology has trickled down to even the smallest businesses. It is a fantastic feature for staff training or keeping recordings for future reference.

Samsung OfficeServ 7030 pbx and CTI Applications

CTI is simply Computer Telephone Integration. It’s the ability of your phone system to talk to your computer network and PC’s. This allows you to do things like:

OfficeServ Call – is a Windows call management application providing simple point-and-click access to the full range of advanced call handling features of the OfficeServ 7030 system. OfficeServ Call can interact with a range of TAPI-based applications such as Outlook to allow users to perform functions such as dialling from Contact List, Screen Pop, Missed Calls, and also acts as a personal BLF (Busy Lamp Field) for the users.

OfficeServ Easyset – is a Windows Browser application that enables users to customise their own phone settings simply and easily with this application. You don’t need to be an expert to use it and with a simple mouse click you can quickly change features like Extension BLF, Divert Target, Divert Condition and Personal Speed Dials etc.

OfficeServ Manager software – this allows managers to administer their own systems removing the reliance on the phone installer and giving them virtually complete control. This significantly reduces the TCO over the life of the system.

OfficeServ 7030 is also Microsoft TAPI compliant and compatible with a wide range of industry standard CTI applications.

With new technology offering so many features we always recommend that you speak to one of our expert consultants. This way we can ascertain how your business operates, what you’re trying to achieve and make suggestions about how the various features can deliver productivity improvements.

The OfficeServ 7100 SME business phone system offers users a feature rich solution that can scale up to 60 users in total. The maximum configuration of 60 ultimately depends on the type of handset combinations you decide on. Maximum handset configuration per type for the OfficeServ 7100 IP Pbx are as follows:

  • Samsung IP handsets – 56 users
  • Samsung Digital handsets – 36 users
  • Analogue phones – 36 users

Like many IP solutions currently available the Samsung OS 7100 pbx is a hybrid phone system. This allows you to connect a multitude of different handset and phone lines depending on which technologies you choose. If you opt for the latest IP handsets but still want to keep your existing PSTN Telstra line services you can. When you’re ready to migrate to SIP trunks (VoIP phone lines) the system can seamlessly accommodate that as well. You are able to connect the maximum phone line numbers below for a total of 30 phone lines. The exact line composition will determine this so please speak to a sales representative if you are approaching maximums:

  • SIP VoIP or h/323 trunks – 24 lines
  • Digital ISDN 2 phone lines – 24 lines
  • Analogue PSTN phone lines – 20 lines

Samsung PABX OS 7100

A Samsung SME office solution that can grow as you do

The 7100 is technically limited to 60 users however the great news is the 7000 OfficeServ PBX series offers modular architecture. This means that all Samsung handsets are universally accepted across the entire range as well as having common software. Most expansion often takes the form of additional sites and even if you reach limits in one location, the OfficeServ 7100 IP pbx can link multiple systems and users across the one network of sites.

Samsung Office Serv 7100 IP Pbx offers VoIP trunking (phone lines)

Unlike the smaller OS 7030 which only offers up to 8 SIP trunks and no h/323 connection type, the OS 7100 IP pbx can expand up to 24 VoIP trunks. SIP is the premium VoIP connection method for SME and delivers phenomenal call quality and stability. VoIP or SIP phone lines are not to be confused with IP users – one is phone lines the latter relates to handsets. Also it’s important to note that just because you choose VoIP phone lines you don’t need to implement IP handsets as the OfficeServ 7100 is a hybrid like previously mentioned.

Can you keep your existing phone lines and not go VoIP with the OS7100?

Absolutely. You also keep all your existing phone numbers too. In fact, we have customers of various sizes that like the idea of VoIP but don’t want to implement it straight away. Instead, they elect to keep their existing PSTN or ISDN 2 phone lines until they’re ready in the future. When you consider VoIP, it’s important to have a proper analysis done. Not only to address your location and availability of SIP trunks but also a genuine savings analysis. If a company can’t tell you accurately from a previous phone bill how much you’ll save with VoIP, don’t take their word for it.

It’s true that SIP trunks can save SME companies up to 60%+ however it’s no guarantee for you. Factors like your existing phone call rates and the types of calls you make can massively affect the individual savings you could expect. As a rule we find that VoIP suits about 70% of customers with the balance achieving no benefit whatsoever (even worse off in some cases). With the Office Serv 7100 IP pbx you have the luxury of still having the latest features no matter which phone lines you ultimately decide to deploy.

Range of different Samsung phones to choose from.

The Samsung OfficeServ 7100 phone system supports a wide range of easy to use and well designed wireless, digital and IP handsets. Wireless IP handsets are a great way to ensure mobility for staff while still providing them all the systems features away from the office. It’s refreshing to see affordable IP wireless handsets available on SME solutions like this because there are lots of small businesses that have warehouses, retail stores etc that really benefit from wireless mobility.

In all there are 3 handset types to choose from with multiple handset models in each:

  • Samsung 5000 digital phone series
  • Samsung SMT 3000 IP phone series (basic)
  • Samsung SMT 5000 IP phone series (premium)

The Samsung digital handsets are cheaper than the IP versions because they have smaller screens and no network switch inside. Do your own investigation because there are pro’s and con’s to each option. For example, there can be phenomenal benefits in spending the extra money on IP if you have remote locations, a lack of existing phone cabling or simply like the plug and play offered with IP technology.

What benefit is there stepping up to the OfficeServ 7200?

From a technology perspective there is no benefit. It simply comes down to size. In early releases the OfficeServ 7100 was limited to 32 IP users and the Samsung OS 7200 phone system was capped at 64. With such a divergence the size delineation was clear. Now the 7100 can accommodate 56 IP users versus 64 you might be better served upgrading to the OfficeServ 7200 not the 7200. If you are operating digital or analogue phones it’s a different story as the OS 7200S pbx can accommodate 64 of either type (only 36 with the 7100).

One additional benefit is you also increase the voicemail and Auto attendant capacity to 6 ports from only 4 with the OS 7100 pbx. 4 Ports is more than enough for most companies unless you have an upfront auto attendant that answers all incoming calls as well as voicemail for all staff. If size and extra VM and AA capacity are irrelevant then stick with the cheaper OfficeServ 7100 pbx solution.

Key Features of the Samsung OfficeServ 7100 phone system:

  • Up to 60 users (check specs for max. Configurations)
  • connect PSTN, ISDN 2, Primary Rate, SIP or h/323 trunks
  • Choose from a range of Samsung IP, Digital and Wireless IP handsets
  • Feature rich and easy to use
  • 4 port sophisticated auto attendant and voicemail with e-mail integration
  • Uniform Call Distribution (UCD) and Call Sequencing
  • CTI as well as applications like OfficeServ Call, Easyset and Manager software
  • IP networking for remote users or systems

Is the Samsung OfficeServ 7100 phone system ready for NBN?

Like all IP Pbx systems it certainly is. For most customers in metro areas or with existing ADSL2+ connections the NBN has little or no bearing on phone systems. The only benefit with additional speed is more to do with HD video conferencing than any phone features available. Incidentally the OfficeServ doesn’t natively support HD Video anyway. ADSL2+ is more than enough for VoIP. Even if you are implementing IP phone handsets in the office this has no bearing on the NBN and is solely contingent upon your internal network infrastructure.

If you are unsure about the types of internet connections and current speeds available in your area our staff can check that for you. Wi-fi Access with the OS 7100.

Using Wi-Fi access points in your office you can now use Wi-Fi handsets and PDA’s to connect seamlessly to the Office Serv 7100 Pbx system. This can increase the range of mobility well beyond traditional cordless phones and is much cheaper to deploy than expensive DECT rollouts and base station repeaters.

Connect your mobiles phones and PC’s to the phone system.

Like many IP PBX systems the Samsung OfficeServ 7100 pbx system offers the ability to twin your mobile phone to the system. This allows for your desk phone and mobile to ring at the same time when you call the one office extension. So no matter whether your staff are, in or out of the office, they’re always contactable.

Twinning is the basic way to offer interoperability between mobile devices and office phone systems. In fact this is now a minimum standard on leading systems. What lets the entire Samsung Office Serv range down is that multiple manufacturers have taken this a quantum leap forward in recognition that this is the future direction of mobile employees.

You see other brands allow you to download sophisticated SIP applications for your iPhone, Tablet or Android device. With this you can have access to the phone system and its features anywhere you get Wi-Fi or 3G services. The technology is so progressed that some manufacturers like Avaya even offer Video conferencing and GEO location services with their applications. If you have a genuinely mobile workforce then you should spend time investigating what options are currently out there in the market. This is perhaps the biggest game changing technology available today.

The Samsung OfficeServ 7100 IP pbx also allows remote workers to load softphone applications on their PC’s. This way you get a virtual phone handset on your PC screen that acts and performs just like your real office desk phone (even if you don’t have one). This application is great for people that travel around but if you’re looking at remote worker in a fixed location then a straightforward Samsung IP handset is perhaps the easiest way to go.

OS 7100 Offers Advanced Voicemail and Email Integration

Voicemail is included in most solutions today however the voicemail for the small business OS 7100 solution is very sophisticated and worth mentioning. The Samsung 7100 voicemail allows staff to intelligently route callers with different greetings and employ call routing based on time of day, day of week, caller ID and DDI (Direct In dial numbers). This means you can have different messages automatically configured for every eventuality.

Most people will never use this but for power users its fantastic and worth the time to set up once. Imagine having your phone on do not disturb and going to voicemail but still having the ability to let certain internal/ external numbers ring through. Or letting your callers messages play on the handset speakerphone before you decide to intrude and pick up the call. You get the idea…

The email integration feature gives you the ability to access and manage voicemail messages as emails directly into your inbox. This way you staff can easily listen to, respond, transfer and forward voice and email messages quickly and efficiently. No more waiting to get back to the office and no more excuses. This presents as a WAV file and can be played anywhere you currently receive your emails (laptop, Smart phones, iPhones etc).

Uniform Call distribution, call recording and call centre applications

This type of functionality shows how far technology has trickled down to small business systems. With advanced call routing you can not only intelligently distribute calls between users but you can also see how many people are in the queue etc by simply looking at your phone’s screen.

If you’re running a mini call centre the OfficeServ 7100 CRM application can make call routing decisions based on the CLI presented or the DDI number (direct in dial) the customer called. It can even perform skill based routing to an individual or group that may be best served to take particular type of call. The Samsung CMS application can then measure and report on all this information for both live response times as well as historical information. Incredibly this technology is even available on the small business 7030 pbx.

Call recording is a brilliant feature that used to costs R1000’s. In sales companies it can be a very powerful training tool and in other applications it can be used to store caller content for future potentialities if required. Yes solutions like Hosted IP Pbx’s offer it for next to nothing but again it illustrates how far the technology has trickled down to these affordable Samsung Office Serv small business phone systems.

Samsung OfficeServ 7100 pbx and CTI Applications

CTI is simply an acronym for Computer Telephone Integration. This is the technical ability of your OS7100 pbx to communicate with your computer network and PC’s. This allows you to do things like:

OfficeServ Call – is a Windows call management application providing simple point-and-click access to the full range of advanced call handling features of the OfficeServ 7100 system. OfficeServ Call can interact with a range of TAPI-based applications such as Outlook and allows users to perform such functions as dialling from Contact List, Screen Pop, Missed Calls, and also acts as a personal BLF (Busy Lamp Field) for staff.

OfficeServ Easyset – is a Windows Browser application that enables users to customise their own phone settings quickly and easily. You don’t need a PHD to use it and you can quickly change features like Extension BLF, Divert Target, Divert Condition and Personal Speed Dial and more.

OfficeServ Manager software – this allows managers to administer their own systems removing the reliance on the phone installer and giving you complete control. That means no call out or programming charges and will significantly reduce the TCO over the life of the Samsung 7100 pbx system.

OfficeServ 7100 is also Microsoft TAPI compliant and compatible with a wide range of industry standard CTI applications so you can utilise screen popping, dial from screen and much more.

With so many features on offer with current technology like the Office Serv 7100 pbx the best course of action is to speak with one of our friendly consultants. Once we understand how your SME business operates, what you’re trying to achieve, and your future plans, we can then make intelligent and well conceived suggestions. We can suggest which technologies will suit your business and how they operate in a practical sense.

Samsung PABX OS 7200

The OfficeServ 7200 Pbx is total unified data and telephony platform designed for larger business applications up to 160 staff and linking a further 1000 staff across multiple sites. As a hybrid solution you can choose from a range of digital, IP and wireless handsets as well as traditional and VoIP (SIP and h/323) phone services. With the amount of free inclusions and extensive CTI applications available the OfficeServ 7200 IP Pbx is a very comprehensive solution offering the latest technologies.

Advanced communication for a better solution

With the OfficeServ 7200 pbx you are stepping into powerful solution territory. We’ll let the advanced features speak for themselves. At this end of the market it gets a little technical with advanced features and it’s difficult to simplify specific protocols etc:

IP Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS) – automates interactions with telephone callers across your IP networked sites. Customers can use a touch-tone telephone to interact with your database to either acquire information from or enter data into it.

IP Unified Message System (UMS) – helps manage fax, email and voice mail messages in a single mailbox across your IP network. By unifying message administration, it saves time and cost, enhances business productivity and makes mail management simple and efficient.

This means sites have access to advanced call routing that allows incoming calls to be distributed between sites or specific individuals if required at a granular level. Calls can even be forwarded instantly to the nearest office based on caller ID and DDi information presented. With multiple sites you can also centralise advanced features like UMS, IVR and more which can reduce the implementation costs and effectively share resources.

Range of different Samsung phones for every need and budget.

Handsets represent a large part of overall cost. So the difference between expensive IP handsets and cheaper digital equivalents can translate to R1000’s of Rands difference. Like most good solutions the Samsung Office Serv 7200 connects to the entire range of Samsung wireless, digital and IP handsets offering you choice and well as different price points.

In all there are 3 handset ranges to choose from with multiple handset models in each:

Samsung PABX OfficeServ Softphone

The solution for mobile workers, even when you are far away you can still have the comfort and functionality of your office phone right there on your PC, Laptop or PDA.

With the launch of the OfficeServ SoftPhone, Samsung Business Communications have made your business communications easier for the mobile workforce. The OfficeServ SoftPhone is a software application that works on your PC, Laptop or PDA that gives you a full system phone connected to the OfficeServ system back in your office. It works in the same way as a physical IP phone, and can be used at any location that has connectivity to the Internet.

When the OfficeServ SoftPhone application is started it communicates across the IP network, normally this is the Internet, with your OfficeServ System in the office, the SoftPhone then connects to your office system as a normal IP extension with all of the features now available to you wherever you are.

You will have full access to your, DDI calls, voicemail, Personal and system directories just as if you where in the office. All features that are available to you from your office phone are available in the same way on the SoftPhone.
